By addressing the emotional, psychological, and social impacts of grief and systemic challenges, we empower young people to reclaim their narratives and foster resilience in the face of adversity.
Built from lived experience, and a belief that no young person should grieve alone.
Youth R Us Foundation was founded by Brandon Baker, a Detroit native, to walk alongside children and teens impacted by loss and systemic adversity.

Youth R Us Foundation is dedicated to advocating for and providing essential grief counseling and support to young individuals navigating the challenges of loss and systemic adversity.
Founded by Brandon Baker, a Detroit native who faced the harrowing loss of his parents and experienced a troubled childhood within the juvenile system, our mission is deeply rooted in the understanding of grief's complexities and the urgent need for healing.
We create safe, nurturing environments where youth freely express their emotions, access vital resources, and connect with trained, relatable counselors who understand their unique struggles.
A future where youth are not defined by their losses, but inspired by their potential, with every young person able to heal and thrive regardless of their past.
Outreach, education, advocacy.
Through community outreach, education, and advocacy, Youth R Us Foundation breaks down barriers to mental health support so every young person has the tools they need to heal and thrive.
We serve ages 5 to 18 across Detroit and Metro Detroit through grief counseling, youth empowerment via entrepreneurship, arts and crafts, after school programs, summer camps, trunk or treats, and back to school events.
